Welcome!

My name is Katy Leenerts, and I’m honored to introduce myself as the new principal of O'Farrell Elementary. As we begin the 2025–26 school year, I’m excited to join our elementary team and continue serving a community that means so much to me.

Since 2010, I’ve been a proud member of the O'Farrell staff. I taught history and AVID at both the middle and high school levels for 10 years. I then served as high school team leader (2018–2020), AVID Coordinator (2019–2025), vice principal (2020), and most recently, academic dean (2021–2025).

My experience at the high school level has given me a clear understanding of what students need to succeed after graduation. I believe that success begins with a strong foundation in elementary school. As your child’s principal, I am committed to ensuring they receive that foundation in an environment where they are supported, cared for, and empowered to grow.
