Dear Parents/Guardians,

I would like to welcome you and your child to my class.  I am delighted your child is in my class this year and look forward to getting to know your child.  I can't wait for all the new and exciting experiences we will have throughout the year.  I consider your role in your child's education of great importance to you and I am looking forward to being an active part of your child's year of learning.

Please let me take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.  I have been teaching for over 18 years and bring a great deal of enthusiasm and desire in helping teach your child.  I am a mother of 3 grown adult children and the patience and knowledge I have learned from being a parent gives me additional insight in understanding children.

The greatest part of being in the teaching profession is cultivating and encouraging students to explore and develop their own identities.  It is our job as teachers to inspire and ignite students' natural curiosity.  As teachers, we are only facilitators of learning and are here to awaken a child's creativity and provide a safe and open environment for students.  By providing a safe, well organized, and rule structured classroom, I hope to promote and atmosphere where students excel at learning.

Thank you for the gift of your child in my class!  It is going to be a great year!
